This act of selflessness will help us kick off the new year right and please let this inspire you to do your own act of random kindness in 2013. Tony Talbert a 51 year old man has decided to donate his home for a whole year so a homeless family can live their while he moves in with his parents. He was inspired by his childhood in Los Angles where the spare room frequently went to people in need which inspired this act.
These words remember if you feel like you can’t do the same…Tolbert told CBS in the video above, “You don’t have to be Bill Gates or Warren Buffet or Oprah. We can do it wherever we are, with whatever we have, and for me, I have a home that I can make available.”
Tolbert doesn’t know the recipient a mother of 4 but he found them through Alexandria House a shelter for women and children. Felicia Duke the mother now can reunite her family into one home which was previously impossible since her adult son cold not join them in the shelter because it would have violated the rules. The house will remained fully furnished for the year.
Politicians and the wealthy could learn a lot from simple acts of kindness that inspire others and effect change even the smallest gesture. Let this inspire you to do even the smallest kindness that will mean the world to someone you know or don’t.
This is a great story. Kindness is infectious I say. Hear their story and be inspired. The best part Ruby the mom was diagnosed with liver failure and has been waiting for a liver transplant, so this could not come at a better time for her. She was able to celebrate a holiday she could not have had without help.
Another Christmas story to make you smile. This woman was giving a Christmas card to strangers then leaving before they could say thank you. The money she left with the card ranged from 100 to 200, but it put a smile on people’s faces and a perk in their step. The only description for the woman was a hat and a coat. Maybe you have seen her…Happy holidays and spread some cheer by making someone smile.
This is a great story. Even with all the tragedies that have happened, there is still the spirit of giving and giving hope to other who have fallen on hard times. This is what makes America great and more people should remember this. We should all do our best to help each other not just during the holiday season but all year.
I thought I would include a heartwarming story since today is the end of the world supposedly. I wish there were more people like this and not just during the holidays. I don’t know what it is about the holidays but be are nicer and more giving.
