Wow this is a hard one to call since I feel for the animal and the man who saved the kid. In Washing D.C. a man who shot a pit bull who was mauling an 11 year old boy may be facing gun charges. The man witnessed three pit bulls biting the 11 year old who was on his bike when he decided to get his gun. The man then shot one of the dogs dead prompting a police officer to then shoot the other two dogs as they continued to maul the boy who was hospitalized for lacerations. The police confirmed that the man could be charged with violating guns laws because in D.C. it is illegal to fire a gun on the street even if you legally register the gun. A gun law expert who is also an attorney told the Post that making it stick is difficult because the attack was near the man’s property line.
Wow this is a lot of cats, but these volunteers were able to free them all considering where the cats were going to end up. Volunteers in Guangdong, China rescued 1,000 cats in 40 cramped cages on a truck from near death after a traffic accident. The cats were actually on there way to be sold for meat at a restaurant when the accident happened and left abandoned while the driver was being rushed to the hospital. Dozens of locals who helped with the rescue negotiated with the business owner to buy the animals who were in poor health. Volunteers took some of the animals home, while others were nursed some back to health then transported them to the Changsha Small Animal Protection Association for treatment. There is no law against selling cats for meat to restaurants and these cat snatchers sell each cat for $1 to$2 to middle men who transport the cargo to restaurants according to the Telegraph. About 4 million cats are eaten in China each year reports the Nanfang Daily newspaper.
This is such a sweet story I had to share it. To me, the picture speaks volumes about how dedicated animals are to their owners and that humans can learn a lot. In Rome, Tommy a 12 year old German Shepard hasn’t missed a single day of mass since his owner died 2 month ago. The small church he attends in southern Italy is where his mistress’s funeral was held Wednesday. Each afternoon when the bells of Santa Maria Assunta church ring, Tommy will set off for the village to get a front row seat next to the alter says the Il Messaggero newspaper. His owner “Maria tu lu campu” — “Maria of the fields” — lived alone with Tommy and three other rescue dogs who used to follow her faithfully on her daily rounds and have now been adopted by the village. Tommy has returned daily since his mistress’s coffin was brought to the church on the day of her funeral and sits quietly through all celebrations and masses including funerals according to father Donato Panna.
Interesting and inspiring photos. The carnival photo is my favorite one of all. The image is quite spectacular when you look closely at the dancer but from far away it looks like an abstract painting.
Incredible but true story. Watch the video and tell me what you think.
What is happening?! Too many odd things. Why do you think this is happening?
This is tragic. The whale is on rocks and a big boy so I don’t know how they could save it. Watch the video to see more.
